Thus, from the eleventh day onwards, Acharya Drona took the command of the army in his hands. He caused immense destruction to the Pandavas. Drona was a great warrior with supreme expertise in the game of war. It was not easy to defeat him. Karna had taken a pledge not to fight under Dronacharya. So, now that the command was in Dronacharya's hand he decided to leave the battle-field. However, he promised to come back after the fall of Dronacharya. But Dronacharya persuaded him to forget all grievances and fight in the battle.
