Mahabharat Episode 216: He lifted Bhishma's head tenderly and supported it on the stakes. Bhishma said to Arjuna "Son, I am very thirsty." Arjuna shot an arrow aown into the earth on the right side of the grandsire. Immediately a jet of water gushed out to Bhishma's mouth. It was mother Ganga who had arrived to quench his thirst. Bhishma blessed Arjuna and praised his skills in archery. Bhishma announced that he would lie on this bed of arrows for many days to come. He had been blessed with a boon to live as long as he wished.
